In what is a real rookie mistake, no channel is showing Friday The 13th…
This week is a pretty big week for movie lovers.
New releases in the cinemas include Incredibles 2, Skyscraper, and Marrowbone, and we’ve reviewed them all in the latest episode of The Big Reviewski, which you can check out right here:
However, if you’re sitting in and wanting something different to watch, then we recommend one or more of the following:
FRIDAY 13 JULY
Mrs Doubtfire – E4 – 7.30pm
You know the drill: Robin Williams in Old Lady Drag so he can spend time with his kids while also trying to disrupt his ex-wife’s new relationship with her new partner, literally played by a James Bond.
Free Fire – Film 4 – 9.00pm
Cillian Murphy, Sharlto Copley, Armie Hammer, Brie Larson, Sharlto Copley, Sam Reilly and more star in this prolonged shoot-out set inside one big room. It doesn’t sound that interesting, but trust us, it is. It is also very violent, very funny and very tense.
Event Horizon – SyFy – 9.00pm
20 years old, still underrated. We had a lot to say about this movie before.
Once Upon A Time In Mexico – Dave – 9.00pm
Antonio Banderas is the bad-ass guitar-playing gun-slinger, and Johnny Depp is the double-crossing FBI agent trying to keep the Mexican drug cartels under control. A fun, extremely OTT action thriller.
Man On Fire – Film 4 – 10.50pm
Denzel Washington is the personal bodyguard for Dakota Fanning, who is kidnapped by a Mexican crime syndicate for a lot of money. But Denzel being Denzel, he isn’t going to let her go without a fight.
Shanghai Noon – BBC One – 12.05am
Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson team in the Old Wild West to save a princess. It isn’t so much a plot, as it is a reason for Wilson to do jokes and Chan to do stunts. And you know what? It works.
