Two more sleeps.

But you can’t sleep from now until Christmas Day, unless you’re a bear or something.

In which case, congratulations on reading this article despite not having opposable thumbs.

If you’re of the more human variety, you might be craving both a break from last-minute shopping and some kind of relaxation technique before things really kick off.

Saturday brought us no less than 16 movies to choose from. As for today – Sunday 23 December – well, let’s see what we have in our selection box…

Elf – ITV2 – 4.55pm

Will Ferrell in a role perhaps just as iconic as Ron Burgundy.

We thought it would sweep the board in our recent Best Christmas Movies tournament, but it’s still a beloved festive staple nonetheless.

Scrooged – Universal TV – 5pm

In which Bill Murray gets into the Christmas spirit.

Dr. No – RTÉ Two – 5.50pm

Sean Connery plays a secret agent.

Casino Royale – ITV – 9pm

Daniel Craig plays a secret agent.

A Date for Mad Mary – Virgin Media One – 9pm

Charming Irish comedy-drama that proved a deserved hit with critics and fans just a couple of years back.

The Mechanic – ITV4 – 9pm

Jason Statham and Ben Foster team up and then fall out in this assassin-focused remake.

The Holiday – RTÉ One – 9.30pm

Timely rom-com boasting the talents of Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet and Jack Black.

Daredevil – SyFy – 10pm

Colin Farrell is fun in it, at the very least.

Passenger 57 – Virgin Media Two – 10pm

Wesley Snipes takes flight. Terrorists wish he hadn’t.

Saw – ITV4 – 10.50pm

Not very festive, admittedly.

The Grand Budapest Hotel – Film 4 – 11.20pm

Wes Anderson directs an all-star team in this funny, sad and wildly colourful adventure.
