Time to face reality.
The Bank Holiday weekend is dead and dust.
Let’s try and get back to normal together, shall we?
JOE started off this Tuesday (23 April) with a morning trip to the cinema to see Avengers: Endgame.
NO SPOILERS, we swear, but do come back to the site at 10pm on the dot in order to read Rory Cashin’s full review.
In the meantime, we’ve got some movies on the box to lay out…
Suicide Squad – RTÉ 2 – 9pm
Not a good film in any true sense, but worth watching for how much of a mess it is.
The editing alone is an absolute crime.
Do check out this fun YouTube essay afterwards.
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit – Film 4 – 9pm
If you like Jack Ryan, generally, the Chris Pine version is grand.
If you find Jack Ryan quite boring, generally, best not.
Lethal Weapon 4 – ITV4 – 9pm
The one where Chris Rock and Jet Li get involved.
Riddick – Film 4 – 11.10pm
The third of Vin Diesel’s divisive Chronicles slows and tightens the action, marooning the titular anti-hero on a deserted planet until some mercenaries come calling.
Magnum Force – ITV4 – 11.30pm
Grim, gritty and violent Dirty Harry affair.
Scream 4 – ITV2 – 12.25am
Or ‘Scre4m’ if you agree with the marketing campaign.
The fourth entry into the Scream franchise, in which the killer is defeated by a listless script.
Again, worth a gander if you want to see something once-promising fall to pieces.
