Your Tuesday evening movie menu has arrived!
As we get closer and closer to Halloween, there are more and more spooky movies on the TV each night to choose from! And tonight, you’ve got SIX to pick from. Not all of them great, mind you…
Star Trek: Nemesis – FilmFour – 6.45pm
The one where Tom Hardy plays a young, evil Patrick Stewart. It isn’t very good, but it does have one decent space shoot out.
Tomorrow Never Dies – ITV4 – 8pm
Pierce Brosnan fights an evil media company, which proves to be weirdly prescient of the world today, tbh.
Scary Movie 2 – Comedy Central – 9pm
What if Scary Movie… but not as funny?
Antwone Fisher – FilmFour – 9pm
Denzel Washington directs and stars in this true-life drama about a US Navy officer (played by Derek Luke), who is sent to see a psychologist (Washington) after a series of violent outbursts.
Poltergeist – BBC Three – 10pm
Not the shoddy 2015 remake, but the still-pretty-terrifying 1982 original, dealing with a family finding their home suddenly under siege by a series of apparitions, all with designs on the youngest daughter.
Saw: The Final Chapter – Sky Max – 10pm
The nerve – THE NERVE! – to call this The Final Chapter and then have THREE MORE movies in the Saw franchise after it! This is also, by a wide margin, the absolute worst one.
Jacob’s Ladder – AMC – 10.30pm
Our main pick for tonight is Jacob’s Ladder, an absolutely twisted psychological thriller from the director of Fatal Attraction and the screenwriter of Ghost. Following the sudden death of his young son, a tormented Vietnam veteran (Tim Robbins) attempts to find help from a new treatment that will help him decipher the differences between reality and his terrifying waking nightmares. If you miss it tonight, Jacob’s Ladder is also available to rent on Apple TV and Google Play.
Jeepers Creepers – Legend – 11pm
A brother and sister on a road trip across America are targeted by mysterious truck with an even-more-mysterious driver.
Midsommar – FilmFour – 11.20pm
Florence Pugh gives the performance of a lifetime in this modern classic horror.
Hellbound: Hellraiser II – Legend – 12.50am
Gorier and campier (camper? I’m not sure which one it is, actually) than the first one.
Total Recall – Channel 4 – 2.15am
The Colin Farrell remake is on in the middle of the night, for sure reason.
