Start off your week with some great movies!
Looking for a movie this evening? Prime Video has just added loads, and so have Netflix, but here are all of the movies on your telly for you to choose from too…
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – Sky Showcase – 8pm
The best of the Hunger Games series, and also a very decent action movie in its own right.
Buried – Legend – 9pm
Ryan Reynolds wakes up a coffin with no means of escape. Not one for any claustrophobics out there.
The Fog – Sky Sci-Fi – 9pm
The horror movie that horror maestro John Carpenter was busy making between classic horror Halloween and classic horror The Thing.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade – FilmFour – 9pm
The third one. Arguably the best one? Discuss.
Emma – TG4 – 9.30pm
A very good adaptation of the Jane Austen classic novel, with a killer cast including Anya Taylor Joy, Mia Goth, Josh O’Connor and Johnny Flynn.
Halloween – BBC Three – 10pm
The 2018 rebootquel with Jamie Lee Curtis. Its pretty good.
The Silence of the Lambs – ITV4 – 10.05pm
Our pick for tonight is The Silence of the Lambs, the only horror movie to ever win the Best Picture Oscar. The movie also won Best Actor (for Anthony Hopkins), Best Actress (for Jodie Foster), Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. In case you didn’t know, it revolves around a young FBI agent (Foster) and her interactions with an imprisoned genius cannibal (Hopkins) as they attempt to find a serial killer on the loose. If you miss it tonight, The Silence of the Lambs is also available to rent on Google Play, Rakuten TV and the Sky Store.
The Nines – AMC – 10.40pm
Ryan Reynolds again, this time in a very odd duck of a movie about a group of apparent strangers who find their lives getting intertwined in unexpected ways.
Gothika – Legend – 10.55pm
Halle Berry and Robert Downey Jr. star in this stylish but unscary psychological horror.
What We Do In The Shadows – BBC Two – 11.15pm
A fantastic comedy made to look like a documentary on a group of vampires trying to live together in the modern world.
The Deep Blue Sea – FilmFour – 11.40pm
Rachel Weisz and Tom Hiddleston star in this very decent romantic drama.
Color Out Of Space – AMC – 12.05am
When a meteorite crashes into his back garden, a man (Nic Cage) and his family begin to be tormented by troubling visions.
Love, Simon – FilmFour – 1.45am
A very cute rom-com about a teenage boy who develops a crush on another boy in his class.
