Also on TV tonight: one of the scariest movies ever made.
Prime Video has just added 22 huge movies to its library this week, including what is arguably the best action movie ever made, but if none of those suit, then here are the best (or worst, or most average) movies on TV tonight, starting with…
Instant Family – FilmFour – 6.35pm
FilmFour seems to have this Mark Wahlberg/Rose Byrne comedy-drama on a loop this last week. It is actually pretty good, though.
Game of Death – ITV4 – 9pm
One of the countless direct-to-DVD action movies that litters Wesley Snipes’ CV. Avoid.
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines – FilmFour – 9pm
Our pick for the night is the third Terminator movie, which – when it was first announced – arrived with the biggest budget ever greenlit by a studio: $170 million. Looking back now that seems almost quaint, especially in light of recent budget reports. But all the money really is up there on the screen, with Arnie and co. getting involved in some HUGE action sequences. Plus it has a tremendous ending that, unfortunately, all of the following sequels completely ignored.
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is available to stream on Netflix.
The Wedding Ringer – Comedy Central Extra – 10pm
Kevin Hart and Josh Gad star in this unfunny comedy about a soon-to-be-married man who hires a group of friends so he doesn’t look so lonely at the wedding.
The Blair Witch Project – Sky Sci-Fi – 11pm
Quite literally one of the scariest movies ever made.
The Maze Runner: The Death Cure – FilmFour – 11.10pm
The third and final entry in this not-as-good-as-the-Hunger-Games series.
Detroit – BBC Two – 11.15pm
The director of The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty amasses an impressive cast including John Boyega, Will Poulter, Kaitlyn Dever, Jack Reynor, John Krasinski and Anthony Mackie for this retelling of the infamous 12th Street Riot.
