You probably didn’t know it, but there’s a way to request movies and TV shows on Netflix

Conor Heneghan

Anyone else going to suddenly bombard Netflix with requests to host the entire back catalogue of The Simpsons?

Just us?

Even if we did (and don’t think we’re not prepared to), Netflix cannot just simply begin making well-known movies and TV programmes available to their subscribers; they’d have to jump through a lot of hoops with rights and with distributors first.

The option to request TV shows for Netflix users, however, is something you might not have been aware of, but it’s there and it’s pretty damn easy to do too.

As pointed out by Real Simple earlier this week, all Netflix users have to do is click on the ‘Help Centre’ link which can be accessed after scrolling down to the very bottom of the Netflix home page.

Once there, ‘Request TV shows or movies’ is the first of six options in a sidebar menu at the right hand side of the page, allowing users to make three suggestions.

Netflix keep track of all requests from members so you don’t need to make a request more than once and, as they do on a regular basis, if they add a show they think you’ll like, they’ll let you know by email unless you’ve opted not to receive communications from Netflix in your personal settings.

If ever an opportunity presented itself to get Glenroe on Netflix, where it absolutely belongs, now’s your chance.
