What are you most excited about?
It’s that time of the week again where JOE gives a rundown of the best trailers released in the world of film and TV.
While we previously covered the new footage from the upcoming Fantastic Beasts movie and shows Four Lives and Crime Scene: The Times Square Killer in separate articles, the following are all the other teasers of the past seven days you should know about.
Everything Everywhere All At Once

In this new sci-fi flick, a Chinese American woman finds she alone can save the world by exploring other universes and connecting with the lives she could have led.
Directed by duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Swiss Army Man) and produced by the Russo Brothers (Avengers: Infinity War), Everything Everywhere All At Once just shot to the near top of our most anticipated 2022 movies list.
Thanks to the above teaser’s trippy visuals and comedic undertone, along with the always great Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) being given a rare lead English-language role, we will definitely be watching this once it comes out in Ireland.
While no release date here for the film has been set yet, it will be premiering at the South by Southwest festival in March 2022 so you can expect to see it sometime after that.
The Lost City

A reclusive romance novelist (Sandra Bullock) on a book tour with her cover model (Channing Tatum) gets swept up in a kidnapping attempt that lands them both in a cutthroat jungle adventure.
Co-starring Brad Pitt and Daniel Radcliffe, The Lost City looks set to be a fun Romancing the Stone-esque romantic comedy adventure.
It’s set for a 25 March release in Ireland.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Speaking of meta action comedies, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent stars Nicolas Cage as… Nicolas Cage.
In the movie, the actor begrudgingly accepts a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a billionaire super fan (Pedro Pascal), which ends up taking a wild turn.
Cage recently reminded audiences how terrific he can be in this year’s Pig, so the idea of the star playing himself in a picture sounds definitely interesting.
It is set for a release in Ireland on 22 April.
Doineann

This Irish-language thriller drama focuses on a man (Love/Hate’s Peter Coonan) whose wife and baby go missing on a remote Irish island.
With the help of the island’s retired policewoman, he tries to find his family before a storm hits.
Set for an Irish cinema release on 28 January, Doineann (Irish for “stormy weather”) looks moody, tense and gripping.
The Bad Guys

In a world where humans and anthropomorphic animals co-exist, a villainous wolf (voiced by Sam Rockwell) tires of living a life of crime and tries to become good.
The animated comedy is out in Ireland on 1 April.
Severance

Moving from film to television, this Apple TV+ sci-fi thriller series from Ben Stiller is set at a company where a “severance” program is used to separate the non-work memories of their employees from their work memories.
Boasting a star-studded ensemble cast including Adam Scott, Christopher Walken, John Turturro and Patricia Arquette, it premieres on 18 February.
