Nostalgia alert! Robot Wars will be returning to television

Carl Kinsella

A blast from the past.

The BBC have announced that they have plans to reboot the Robot Wars series, a popular programme in which contestants would build robots before having them fight “to the death” in a Roman gladiator-style arena.

The show has been off-air for over ten years now, and the scientific advances that have been made in that time should make for spectacularly impressive robot carnage.

The series will run for six episodes, each lasting 60 minutes, but hopefully these robo-lads will make enough of an impact that they become a BBC mainstay.

The series had previously been hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, and later Craig Charles from Red Dwarf. We can pretty safely rule Clarkson out of reprising his role, but there is no word on who will present the latest instalment of the show.
