Big Simpsons fans that we are in JOE Towers, we’ve always dreamed of a way to watch every single episode of the show back to back (or Seasons 3-10 at least) for ‘research’ purposes and the folks at Beutler Ink have done just that by classifying every single one of the show’s 552 episodes under a particular theme.

That might sound fairly complicated but in fact it’s quite simple, the boffins behind the ahem, ‘research’, have simply counted, for example, how many episodes are focussed on the show’s main characters (155 on Homer, 74 on Bart etc.), how many Treehouse of Horror episodes (24), how many ‘The Simpsons go to…’ episodes (16) and the amount of crossovers, flashbacks alongside a miscellaneous category simply known as ‘other’.

Whether or not the infographic proves anything ground-breaking is debatable, but in fairness to the lads at Beutler Ink, they proved that they did take the matter entirely seriously with a more in-depth analysis of how they assigned themes to each specific episode here while we do appreciate some of the show’s well-known quotes dotted at various points throughout the infographic.

We did attempt to put forward a similar idea to the head honchos at JOE, of course, but they were a little busy at the time…
