Well Simpsons fans, do you agree?
Ardent fans of The Simpsons – and there are quite a few of them in JOE Towers – will tell you that trying to choose one episode as their all-time favourite is like trying to choose their favourite child so we can only imagine how tough it must have been for one of the most ardent Simpsons of them all to cobble together a list of his 20 favourite episodes from probably the greatest TV show ever made.
If you’re a fan of the show, you’re probably well aware of the @SimpsonsQOTD account on Twitter (over 254,000 followers and counting) and if you’re not, you really should be as it regularly updates followers with reminders of what made the show so great from Seasons 1-11, following which there was a noticeable drop in quality from Homer and company.
The man behind that account, scouser Charlie Southern, last night posted a list of his 20 favourite Simpsons episodes and though it’s entirely subjective and purely a matter of taste and opinion, it immediately prompted debate amongst Simpsons fans on the Twittersphere, who submitted their suggestions for episodes they believe should have been included.

Here at JOE we experienced something similar when our individual writers listed their favourite episodes earlier this year, but we love any Simpsons-related debate so have a look at Charlie’s list – in fairness, there are some absolute belters in there – and feel free to add your own suggestions about episodes that might have had a decent shout for selection in the comment box below.
