Rolling Stone’s ranking of the greatest TV shows of all time is quite controversial

Paul Moore

How many have you seen?

Truth be told, it’s impossible to find some metric, gauge or criterion that allows you to measure the merits of one TV show over another.

For example, if we were to ask you what scene you enjoyed more, Jon Snow kicking ass during the Battle of the Bastards or Walter White’s emotional phone call to Skyler in Ozymandias, the chances are that you’ll be split.

Ok, there’s actually one clear winner. It’s the Monorail Song during The Simpsons.

Ok, you get the point that it’s literally impossible to choose an all time favourite TV show but the folks at Rolling Stone have given it their best shot. Take a look at their top 20 below.

Truth be told, we can’t agree with any list that doesn’t rate Father Ted as one of the greatest 100 shows that was ever made. The top 5 is pretty great though.

  2. The Wire
  3. Breaking Bad
