JOE isn’t going to be getting off the couch this festive season…
One of our many Christmas traditions, apart from eating loads of food and frantically buying last-minute gifts for all those people that we forgot about, is enjoying some brilliant TV.
RTE have just announced some of the gems that they have in store for the Christmas period and our bums are already on the couch.
Movie wise you can enjoy all of the following; Skyfall, Argo, Django Unchained, The Dark Knight Rises , The Help, Madagascar 3, The Avengers and Puss In Boots.
There are also some Christmas classics coming to our screens like, It’s A Wonderful Life, The Sound of Music, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Raiders Of The Lost Ark.
If you’re in search of a laugh then there will also be comedy specials from Mrs. Brown’s Boys, Callan’s Kicks, The Savage Eye and Mario Rosenstock to keep you entrained.
Fans of documentaries and one-on-one interviews are also well served as Unbreakable tells the inspirational story of Mark Pollock’s amazing strength and positivity in the face of incredible obstacles throughout his life.
Man On Bridge will focus on the extraordinary story of legendary Dublin street photographer Arthur Fields and in What’s Another Year: The Life and Times of Shay Healy, Shay, along with friends, colleagues and family members, look back on a long, distinguished and occasionally turbulent life and times.
One of the shows that we’re most looking forward to seeing is the three part series entitled Charlie that will explore the emergence of modern day Ireland by charting the rise and fall of the charismatic yet divisive figure of Charles Haughey.
One of JOE’s favourite watches over the period, the RTÉ Sports Awards, will once again be presented by Darragh Maloney and sees a host of Irish sporting stars in attendance for one of the best sporting events of the year.
Kathryn Thomas and Paddy McKenna will be bringing the year to a close before ushering in 2015 live on RTÉ One.
