He was 32-years old.
The Star Wars fan whose last wish was to see the new Star Wars movie The Force Awakens has died.
Daniel Fleetwood was diagnosed with terminal cancer in July and was given two months to live but an amazing thing happened off the back of a video he posted on YouTube.
Daniel spoke about his love for the franchise and how it began to look unlikely that he’d be able to see The Force Awakens because of its December release date.
The internet rallied around Daniel and the video somehow reached Star Wars actors Mark Hamill, John Boyega and Carrie Fisher who wanted to do something special for the 32-year-old.
They urged director JJ Abrams, Lucasfilm and Disney to show him a pre-screening and after a bit of back and forth, an uncut version of the film was shown at his house.
Sadly, Daniel’s fight with cancer ended yesterday and his wife Ashley posted this message on Facebook.

“Daniel put up an amazing fight to the very end. He is now one with God and with the force. He passed in his sleep and in peace. He will always be my idol and my hero.
“Please hug uncle Marc for me and give Lucy lots of kisses. Rest in peace my love. This was the last selfie we ever took together.”
