The new teaser gives viewers some glimpses of what is next for the show.
It’s been over two years since season three of Stranger Things dropped on Netflix, with the show being sorely missed.
That said, following production delays on the fourth series due to Covid-19, we now have confirmation the show will return sometime in 2022, as well as a new sneak peak of the upcoming season.
Now to be fair, most of the new teaser is footage from previous episodes. However, we do get some glimpses of what’s to come in the show.
That includes shots of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) being captured by a bunch of suits and a newly bald Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour) wielding a flamethrower – the latter, in particular, looking very cool.
While it has been confirmed that season four is coming in 2022, no set release date has been announced.
Yet, we do know that surviving series regulars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman and Cara Buono are to be joined by some new arrivals.
Jamie Campbell Bower (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows), Eduardo Franco (Booksmart) and Joseph Quinn (Dickensian) are all on board as upcoming series regulars.
The central plot itself of season four is also mostly under wraps, but it will pick up on the surprise survival of Hopper at the end of the third season.
Series creators The Duffer Brothers previously told Entertainment Weekly what we can expect from the central premise of the new season:
“Hopper is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, Russia, where he will face dangers both human… and other. Meanwhile, back in the States, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything…”
