Action, rom-com, sci-fi and powerful dramas are all in the movie on TV tonight.
Your Monday Tuesday evening movie menu has arrived. Yes, we thought it was Monday too. Bank Holiday has ruined on concept of time, but on the plus side, four day week!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part One – ITV2 – 6.05pm
The second last one. The one with all the walking.
Keeping Up With The Joneses – FilmFour – 6.45pm
With a cast this impressive – Zach Galifianakis, Gal Gadot, Isla Fisher, Jon Hamm – this action comedy about a couple who believe their new neighbours are assassins should’ve been MUCH funnier than this.
The Other Guys – ITV4 – 9pm
Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg star in this still brilliant action comedy, kicked off with a stellar set-piece with Samuel L. Jackson and The Rock.
Jumanji: The Next Level – FilmFour – 9pm
The Rock again, this time in the action adventure sequel, along with Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Danny DeVito, Awkwafina and Danny Glover.
It’s Complicated – Comedy Central Extra – 10pm
A fun rom-com about a woman (Meryl Streep) and her ex-husband (Alec Baldwin) who begin to fall in love again, despite the fact that he’s now remarried, and she’s dating someone new (Steve Martin).
Equals – BBC Three – 10.15pm
A not-great sci-fi romance, set in a world where emotions have been chemically erased, but that won’t stop two people (Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hault) from falling in love.
Clemency – BBC Two – 11.15pm
A powerful drama about a friendship between the warden of a death row prison (Alfre Woodard) and one of her inmates (Anthony Mackie). 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood – FilmFour – 11.25pm
Our main pick for tonight is Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which is set to be Tarantino’s second-to-last film ever. As we get more and more details on his impending final movie (more on that here), we should cherish what we still have, including this sprawling Hollywood epic about a fading film star (Leonardo DiCaprio), his stunt man/BFF (Brad Pitt), and their famous sorta-neighbour (Margot Robbie)…
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is available to rent at home on Google Play, Apple TV and the Sky Store right now, and you can check out our interview with Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie for the movie right here:
Somers Town – FilmFour – 2.40am
With a score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, this comedy drama about two young men who have their friendship tested when they fall in love with the same woman is worth staying up late for… or set your recorder so you can watch it whenever.
