Channel 4 will be the new home of the massively popular baking show from next year onwards.
First of all, don’t pretend that you’ve never watched The Great British Bake Off. There’s no point. You love it, we love it, even if some of the contestants cause you to throw things at the telly from time to time.
Smile-talking Andrew for one…

Well, get ready to enjoy some ad breaks with your showstoppers as the show is moving to Channel 4 from 2017 onwards.
The channel has signed a three-year with Love Productions, which makes the show, and it will start its coverage with a celebrity version (because of course it will) next year.
“Channel 4 is very proud to be the new home for The Great British Bake Off. I’m delighted we have been able to partner with the hugely talented team at Love Productions to keep this much loved show on free-to-air television,” said Jay Hunt, Channel 4’s Chief Creative Officer.
Richard McKerrow, Love Productions Creative Director added: “We believe we’ve found the perfect new home for Bake Off. It’s a public service, free-to-air broadcaster for whom Love Productions have produced high quality and highly successful programmes for more than a decade.
“It’s tremendously exciting to have found a broadcaster who we know will protect and nurture The Great British Bake Off for many years to come.”
