That’s right folks, Storyland is back with a brand new set of original Irish dramas.
Back in 2009, the Hardy Bucks became the very first winners RTÉ Storyland on-line drama series and you can still check out their original work over on the RTÉ Player.
This year, however, the competition has been set out a little differently. In a change to previous years the five series have been commissioned in full, each consisting of four six-minute episodes.
So beginning today, a new series will be released on RTÉ Player each Monday over the next five weeks. Make sure to keep an eye out for them.
The first series to be released this week is Burning Wishes, which is a black comedy about death, friendship and good ol’ fashioned grave-robbing by Deadpan Pictures. Check out the episodes over here.
Mark Doherty & Colum McDonnell star in the first new Storyland series, Burning Wishes.
Close to 200 aspiring and experienced drama production teams pitched their ideas to make a series for Storyland. Five production companies across Ireland won commissions to create 5 original dramas (4 x 6 minute web episodes) to be shown on RTÉ Player.
The five production companies are Black Sheep Productions, Blinder Films, Deadpan Pictures, Fantastic Films, and Stirling Film and Television Productions.
We look forward to seeing their work over the coming weeks.
