The second series of True Detective set to feature three lead actors

It'll be like Three Men And A Baby all over again, except completely diffferent.

New details have come to light about the second series of True Detective, which will feature three lead characters instead of two.

The first season of the detective drama was a critical and commercial success, with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson playing two police officers stalking a Bayou killer.

The action for round two will move to California, with series creator Nic Pizzolatto revealing that he hopes that the series carries much of the atmosphere over from series one.

“We’re working with three leads,” Pizzolatto said.

“It takes place in California — not Los Angeles, but some of the much lesser known venues of California — and we’re going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place, much like we did in Season 1.”

None of the characters from the first series will return, while reports that Jessica Chastain would play some part were recently rubbished.

“The characters are all new, but I’m deeply in love with each of them,” Pizzolatto added.

“We’ve got the entire series broken out with a couple of scripts, and we’ll probably start casting in earnest in the coming months.”
