Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has hinted that subscription prices for the streaming service could be set to rise.
Hastings was speaking to investors on Wednesday and said that the company is planning to spend a lot of money on original content.
That, of course, will come at a cost and that is set to be passed on to the consumer. Us, in other words.
Hastings explained: “We want to take it very slow. Over the next decade I think we’ll be able to add more content and have more value and then price that appropriately.”
Netflix is also hoping to drive people from the basic package – which costs €7.99 a month – to its more expensive standard and premium packages, while also cracking down on password sharing.
