People absolutely loved them.
First Dates Ireland returned last night and side from one embarrassing slip of the tongue, the show provided its usual mix of romance, laughs and cringe.
The stars of the show were undoubtedly Paddy and Lauren though because the very likeable pair were actually on their first ever date.
Fair play to Paddy for correctly guessing Lauren’s favourite TV show and musician. That’s impressive stuff!
We were delighted to see that things got even better between them because the pair really seemed to hit it off.
What was extremely admirable though were the emotional moments when Lauren bravely talked about her cystic fibrosis and the loss of her little sister.
It appears that the people of Ireland have a new role model.
I wish Lauren could be on first dates every week #FirstDatesIRL

Paddy also displayed a remarkable level of honesty and courage when talking about his own experiences of loss and grief.

It appeared that their first date was an absolute success and we all waited for the moment of truth.
They fancied each other!

The date went incredibly well, but there was a slight bump in the road.

Rather than let this get in the way, the pair stayed in contact and they even managed to head out for a second date.
Well done guys!
UPDATE! Paddy took Lauren on a 2nd date once Lauren was feeling better. He guessed she'd enjoy the zoo! He was right…again #FirstDatesIRL pic.twitter.com/Dtq3ZZovdw
