Choose life…and this.

Ever since we heard that the incredibly talented director Danny Boyle would be returning to direct a sequel to Trainspotting, our hearts have been pumping faster than Renton after sprinting through the streets of Edinburgh.

The Oscar winning director is currently promoting his upcoming film, Steve Jobs which stars Michael Fassbender, and he gave a few interesting tidbits about his plans for the Trainspotting sequel.

He told Coming Soon: ‘It’s May and June next year we shoot and we’ve got a terrific script. We’ve got the four main actors all eager and willing to do it.’

Personally speaking, it will be bloody great to see Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle back on screen together but that’s not all that Boyle said.

‘Hopefully, we can get it finished in time to release it in 2016 which is the 20th Anniversary year, so yes, we’re on it, and it’s looking good.

Irvine Welsh Returns To Edinburgh For Exclusive Screening of Trainspotting

The film will be adapted by John Hodge and based on Irvine Welsh’s book Porno but that might not be the actual title of the film.

Boyle joked, ‘we’re going to try and call it T2 but there might be some issues there with James Cameron.’
