True crime documentary about infamous murder case among the new additions to Netflix this weekend

Wondering what to watch this weekend? Not to worry, as Netflix have added a lot of gems to their current catalogue.

Below JOE has chosen its top Netflix picks this weekend.

Murder by the Coast (Now on Netflix)

Fans of true crime documentaries are no doubt eagerly anticipating Sophie: A Murder in West Cork, Netflix’s three-part examination into the death Sophie Toscan du Plantier, which will be released on Wednesday, 30 June.

Until then though, they can check out Murder by the Coast, a new documentary film exploring the infamous Wanninkhof Case, which led to what has been described as one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in the judiciary history of Spain.

Its plot synopsis reads: “In 1999, teen Rocío Wanninkhof is murdered. Her mother’s ex-partner, Dolores Vázquez, is suspected. Did she do it? A second victim reveals the truth.”

Too Hot to Handle: Season 2 (Now on Netflix)

On the shores of paradise, gorgeous singles meet and mingle. But there’s a twist. To win a $100,000 grand prize, they’ll have to give up sex.

Back with ten new singles, episodes 1-4 of Too Hot to Handle’s second season are out now, while episodes 5-10 will be released 30 June.

Good on Paper (Now on Netflix)

After years of putting her career ahead of love, a stand-up comic has stumbled upon the perfect guy. On paper, he checks all the boxes but is he everything he appears to be?

This romantic comedy is written by and stars American comedian Iliza Shlesinger.

Sisters on Track (Now on Netflix)

This documentary film chronicles the coming-of-age story of the Sheppard sisters: Tai, Rainn, and Brooke who were propelled into the national spotlight in 2016 with their first-time wins at the Junior Olympics.

The resulting media storm landed the trio on the cover of Sports Illustrated Kids as “SportsKids of the Year” and they were able to move from shelters into their own home.

The Naked Director: Season 2 (Now on Netflix)

Based on true events, The Naked Director tells the story of Japanese adult video director Toru Muranishi as he attempts to turn the country’s porn industry on its head.

In this second season, Muranishi aims for even loftier heights but his growing ego and ambitions may spell his downfall.

Sex/Life (Now on Netflix)

In this eight-part series, a suburban mother of two (Sarah Shahi) takes a fantasy-charged trip down memory lane that sets her very married present on a collision course with her wild-child past.

Godzilla Singular Point (Now on Netflix)

In this anime series, a grad student and an engineer brought together by a mysterious song lead the fight against an unimaginable force that may spell doom for the world.
