Tubridy v Coogan: Here’s the Late Late line-up and the rest of tonight’s telly

Tony Cuddihy

There’s no Graham Norton tonight, but still plenty to keep you entertained if The Late Late Show is not your thing.

First of all, to RTÉ, where hopefully the Late Late audience will be better behaved than that rabble that showed up a fortnight ago.

(Serves them right for handing out johnnies.)

The Late Late Show

Richard Gere

He’s in Dublin to promote his new movie Time Out Of Mind.

David Haye

The heavyweight boxer talks about his return to the ring and his stint on whatever they call that celebrity jungle bullshit.

Jason Smyth

The Paralympic athlete, and four-times champion, will be talking about his chances in Rio later this year.

Pat Rabbitte

The former Labour leader will be talking about the rise of the Independents and the changing political landscape as the polls close on election day. He’ll also be talking about his decision to retire from political life.

The Best Of The Rest

Philomena (BBC2, 9pm)

Steve Coogan and Dame Judi Dench star in this massively affecting drama about an Irish woman searching to reconnect with the child she had seen put up for adoption in her youth. It’s arguably Coogan’s best on-screen performance, far more restrained than anything he has done.

Gogglebox (Channel 4, 9pm)

Although it won’t be anywhere near as good as the Irish version.

GogglePox

Kick-Ass 2 (RTÉ2, 10.15pm)

Full disclosure: Loved the original but haven’t seen it. Here’s the trailer.
