Tubridy vs Norton: The Late Late Toy show edition!

Decisions, decisions...

Carl Kinsella

Ryan’s got an advantage this week.

No disrespect to Graham Norton, but if there’s such a thing as a silver bullet in Friday night television it’s The Late Late Toy Show.

Santa Claus could be sitting in his sleigh on your lawn, shooting Christmas pudding and snow out of a canon, and it still wouldn’t say ‘Christmas’ like Ryan Tubridy in an elf costume.

It’s going to take some pretty fine guests for Graham-o to win out this week.

The Late Late (Toy) Show

When it comes to The Late Late Toy Show, RTÉ tend to keep their guest under wraps (much like Christmas presents, you see), but the surprises are rarely disappointing.

As for what we can expect… Well, there was Ed Sheeran’s heart-warming appearance on last year’s show that would have melted even the iciest heart.

Irish sporting legends like Robbie Keane showing up to make their fans’ dreams come true:

And we hate to speculate, but if only there were some iconic Irish showmen who were back home in Dublin for the week…

Graham Norton

We don’t need to do any guessing when it comes to the Graham Norton line-up this evening. It’s a lad’s night in over on BBC.

Johnny Depp and Benedict Cumberbatch

Pretty boys Depp and Cumberbatch, who play the Bostonian Bulger brothers in the newly-released blockbuster Black Mass, will be on the couch to talk about the movie.

Daniel Radcliffe

While there’ll be plenty of Christmas magic over on RTÉ, Harry Potter himself will be on BBC, promoting his new film Victor Frankenstein and discussing life after Hogwarts. Wonder if he’ll be doing more of this?

James McAvoy

Completing Graham Norton’s set of men more handsome than we could ever hope to be is James McAvoy aka Professor Charles Xavier from X-Men aka Mr. Tumnus from The Chronicles of Narnia.

The Corrs

Graham’s musical guests might get a few people to tune in. The Corrs played a comeback gig in Dublin earlier on this week. If you missed that, you can catch them tonight on BBC.
