The reaction, for the most part, was positive.
Michael and Danny Healy-Rae are still riding on the crest of a wave after their spectacular victory in Kerry in last weekend’s general election and they rode that wave all the way to the Late Late Show last night.
The Healy-Rae brothers might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but nobody can deny that they are interesting and they illustrated just why in spades while chatting with Ryan Tubridy.

Michael did most of the talking about topics such as “the smart alecs in Dublin,” the urgent need for a Minister for Rural Affairs and, of course, their beloved Kerry and judging by the reaction on social media, the majority of viewers were impressed with their performance.

The Healy Raes were good value there. I think Michael was scared shitless anytime Danny spoke! They are a fascinating political phenomenon

You have to hand it to the #HealyRaes. The world stops at the Red Cow roundabout. #brilliant @MHealyRae

If you had the #HealyRaes on for the whole #latelate show instead of these crowd, they would have more viewers than the toy show.

It’s a good job most people liked what they saw, because we’re going to seeing a lot of the Healy-Raes in the near future.
