“Who calls to someone’s house when The Late Late Show is on?”
Bridget and Eamon, Ireland’s favourite dysfunctional couple from times gone by, were so popular on Republic of Telly that they were given an RTE spin-off of their own and there was much anticipation ahead of their debut this evening.
There’s always a danger that something that worked in a shorter format won’t prove as popular when it has to command the attention of the audience for the best part of half an hour.
Judging by the reaction of viewers on Twitter this evening, however, it’s very much a hit.
