Celebrities reading mean tweets about themselves has been a staple of the Jimmy Kimmel show for some time now, but we doubt he ever thought he’d be able to persuade the most powerful man in the world to take the p*ss out of himself on live television.
In fact, that’s exactly what he did last night.
Granted, the tweets read out by the US President were a little bit more PC than what we’ve seen on the Kimmel show in the past, but Obama did a fine job and even added in some wry (and possibly scripted) comments of his own at various intervals.
Some will say Obama had little to lose as he hasn’t long left in the Oval office in any case, but it takes balls to try and show that you’re ‘down with the kids’ on national television and we think he just about pulled it off.
