A manufactured controversy or genuinely offensive? Last night’s episode of The Voice of Ireland makes an appearance across lots of media today after a song by Danica Holland, and the moves of a team of dancers behind her, seemed to upset some.
Singing Lady Gaga’s Do What You Want (With My Body), Holland was backed by four female and four male dancers, but the whole thing looks pretty tame to us.
Reports in the Irish Indo suggest that one audience member at the show walked out with her nine-year-old daughter while some on social media questioned the routine being broadcast at 7pm in the evening.
However, the man behind the show, ShinAwiL’s Larry Bass, told the Irish Daily Mail: ‘”It’s nothing more than you would see on Hollyoaks and that goes out at 7pm, If anything we are showcasing some amazingly talented dancers and hopefully they can inspire children around the country to take up dancing.”
