VIDEO: Ryan Tubridy was almost smashed in the face by a steel pole while eating at a Dublin restaurant

Paul Moore

One of the more interesting Q&A’s that you’ll see.

Ryan Tubridy is one of the most recognisable faces in Ireland but the Late Late Show host might have been looking a little bit different if he was sitting a few inches to the other side while eating a Dublin restaurant.

The TV presenter has revealed that he was almost maimed after a freak accident while eating at a burger joint in Dublin city. In his own words, “turns out the awning outside the front had broken and the pole that was holding the awning had whipped around and where I’d been sitting was just here [points to beside his head] so I could have died! No, I’m just joking.  I could have ended up with glass in my face which would have been a good look, or a pole in my eye which would have been…. imagine doing a show with a black eye and then all the rumours?”.

Tubridy revealed the information via a Facebook live chat with RTÉ One where he also stated that his favourite team is Galway United and that he’s a huge fan of the curry chips from Supermac’s.

It seems that West is best for Tubs.

Take a look (the pole chat comes in near the 6;30 mark).
