Side Effects is a new mystery thriller by Steven Soderbergh starring Jude Law, Catherine Zeta Jones and Channing Tatum. A New York couple Emily (Rooney Mara) and Martin (Tatum) are struggling to readjust to life after Martin his released from prison. Emily becomes depressed and after crashing her car is referred to a psychiatrist, Dr. Jonathan Banks (Jude Law).
Dr. Banks prescribes her some drugs to help with the symptoms of depression, including a new drug called Ablixa. But the new drug seems to have some dangerous side effects (thus the movie title) and soon Emily doesn’t know what is real and what is illusion.
Rumour has it that this is Steven Soderbergh’s retirement from directing. His previous works include Magic Mike, Contagion, and Oceans 11, 12 and 13.
Due for release on March 8.
