Forget the west of Ireland, you might as well be in Westeros…
If you can at all, you should really get yourself down to Galway at some stage during the summer and with the races currently underway, there really is no time like the present.
There are few towns in Ireland than can replicate the buzz that is clearly evident in Galway at this time of year, particularly when the weather’s good and the streets are full of tourists and locals alike.
Shop Street in particular is well worth a visit and you can expect to come across all manner of street performers, such as this incredibly talented group who played a wonderful version of the theme tune to the wildly popular HBO series Game of Thrones yesterday.

It’s the sort of thing you can imagine being played at a Game of Thrones fan’s wedding… actually, on second thought, weddings and Game of Thrones don’t really go well together, do they?
