Want your five seconds of fame but don’t want to be centre of attention? This could be just the ticket.
The wildly popular First Dates Ireland is returning for a second season and the production team behind the show are looking for people to fill the tables at the Gibson Hotel.
Alas, for those of you looking for an opportunity for a very public romance with a perfect stranger, COCO Television are looking for background daters, 300 of whom visited the restaurant during the last season.

COCO Television are now taking applications for background daters in The First Dates Restaurant and the lucky selected few will be matched with another background dater applicant based on the likes, dislikes and information they supply in the application form.
Background daters will still get a date without all the pressure of having it broadcast on national television, with filming set to take place between August 25 and August 31.
