WATCH: Netflix’s new documentary series on hostages and kidnappings looks superb

Tense as hell.

Who needs scriptwriters to create drama when you can rely on some of the most intense, gritty and captivating stories that have unfolded in recent years.

In their new series Captive, Netflix will delve into the dangerous world of hostage negotiation. Victims, negotiators, and kidnappers are all interviewed as the audience finally gets an an unprecedented look at what it means to be held captive.

The show is produced by Doug Liman, director of The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow, as the docu-series unfolds over eight nail-biting episodes.

The show airs on December 9th and here’s a taste of what’s in store.
