WATCH: Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump get a ribbing in a new clip from The Simpsons

Conor Heneghan

“Trump is winning 102%. Business is business.”

The Simpsons is a far cry from what it was in its heyday, when like pretty much everything, it did political satire better than anyone else.

A couple of decades on from when Bill Clinton was one of the show’s primary targets for piss-taking, the show has officially endorsed his wife for President this time around and has decided to concentrate on mocking her Presidential rival Donald Trump instead.

In a new clip from the show, Homer can be seen lining up at a polling station to vote, where he is discussing the merits of the candidates with a suspicious fellow voter in a Red Sox t-shirt.

Growing suspicious of his increasingly Russian-sounding accent, Homer reveals him to be none other than Vladimir Putin, who boasts of his hackers manipulating the election in favour of his preferred candidate, Donald Trump.

Amusing enough, but we preferred the way they used to do it in the good old days…
