Not such a blue Monday for fans of the band.
2016 was a memorable year for The 1975 because the Manchester band saw their second album, I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it, achieve massive critical and commercial acclaim.
The album went to number one on the UK and Billboard 200, and the accolades didn’t end there.
The band have been nominated for two Brit Awards and were also shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize, ultimately losing out to Skepta – Konnichiwa.
Despite the fact that Matt Healy and co recently cancelled a host of dates around Europe, these cancellations seem like good news for Irish fans of the band.
The 1975 have posted the following message via Twitter and it appears that tour dates in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland are imminent.
The band haven’t released the exact dates just yet, but keep your eyes peeled in the coming days.
