It seems like all is well with the New York band…
The Strokes’ frontman Julian Casablancas has said that the band will start working on new material early next year. The New Yorkers’ last album ‘Comedown Machine’ was released in March ’13 so we’re expecting the following up to be released at some point in 2015.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, Casablancas confirmed there are plans to start on some new songs, “In January we might meet up and work on some ideas. Everyone is psyched. Everything is in a really cool place. We haven’t started on anything.”
The Strokes were back on the road this summer for the first time since 2011 and Casablancas revealed that there’s a nice harmony in the band at the moment, “It was cool and we played some shows and the vibe is finally… I don’t know if we ever had that good a working friendship foundation [in our] work relationship, but now we finally have that. We’ll always have the creative vibe.”
Since we heard this news, we’ve been playing The Strokes on a loop on our Spotify. Here are five of our favourites from down through the years, so good…
Hat-tip to NME.
