JOE takes a look at the best that the world of music and entertainment has to offer and recommends one track or film that you should download, with thanks to the good folks at Magnet.
Today’s daily download sees us downloading a proper blast from the past as we take a look at Daft Punk’s first album Homework, as we wait in great anticipation for their latest one called Random Access Memories, which is out next week.
Homework was the first studio album released by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo back in January 1997 and it would pave the way for electronic and dance music of the 00’s.
The album featured some tracks that are still widely played on the radio and in dance clubs including ‘Da Funk’, ‘Around the World’, ‘Teachers’ and ‘Oh Yea’.
Homework done fairly well in the charts topping out at no.3 in the French charts and at no.150 on the US Billboard 200.
Like we said, Daft Punk’s current album Random Access Memories won’t be available to download (and you’d want a fairly decent broadband connection when it does become available, as it’s set to break every download record ever) until next week, so head on over to iTunes (here) and download Homework to whet your appetite.
