The West Cork singer has got the perfect song to keep you company on this grey summer Monday. His new track, A Darkness, is a soulful ballad that sounds like it has come out of Cork via the churches of Louisiana.
The song mixes the sound of a soulful gospel hymn with engagingly explicit and honest lyrics. Deady has a soothing voice that wouldn’t be out of place at the head of a choir, which makes his harrowing lyrics all the more interesting.
Deady’s new album, Non-Fiction, is set for release later in the year and if this tune is anything to go by, it will be a roaring success.
