Abbey Road studios in London is one of the most famous recording studios in the world thanks to the legendary list of artists who have created music there down through the years. The ’60s was the golden era with The Beatles and Pink Floyd among the acts to use the facilities but since then numerous top acts have recorded some classic pieces of work at Abbey Road.
Here’s JOE and Bulmer’s Top 5 Iconic Abbey Road Albums.
The Beatles – ‘Abbey Road’

The band that’s most synonymous with Abbey Road is The Beatles with people still recreating their famous walk across the road to this very day. The venue became a second home for the band and they did the majority of their recording there throughout their career.
The ‘Abbey Road’ album was the last that all four Beatles recorded together and it’s their biggest selling album of all time. ‘Here Comes The Sun’ is our favourite track off the album…
Radiohead – ‘Kid A’

Radiohead were one of the biggest bands in the world at the turn of the century and that was proven as their fourth album ‘Kid A’ debuted at number 1 in the American Billboard charts despite their being no official single or music video.
Thom Yorke and the boys have sold four million copies of the record and it was a staple in college houses for a few years after its release. ‘Idioteque’ is a belter…
Pink Floyd – ‘Dark Side of the Moon’

‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ is considered one of the greatest albums of all time and it seems apt that it was recorded in Abbey Road. The record catapulted Pink Floyd to global success selling over 50 million copies. Interestingly, some of the profits from the album were donated to the making of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Oasis – ‘Be Here Now’

Oasis are undoubtedly one of the band that defined the ’90s for an awful lot of people. Their attitude and their music was so fresh and JOE was a massive fan. We also loved Blur, in case you were wondering.
Oasis were at the height of their fame when ‘Be Here Now’ was released in ’97 and even though it didn’t quite reach the level of ‘Definitely Maybe’ we were still huge fans…
Florence and the Machine – ‘Ceremonials’

Florence Welch and her Machine are one of the biggest pop acts in the world right now and Flo recorded her second album ‘Ceremonials’ in the famous Abbey Road studios.
She made the most the opportunity to recorded their as the album is an absolute classic with single-after-single blaring out of our radio since it was released.
The singer is releasing her third album later this year and she’ll be doing well to top this…
Those are some of our favourite iconic Abbey Road albums and if the quality of recordings in the future can get close to them, music is in a very safe place.
