No holding back.
Hip hop artist Stormzy has hit out secondary ticketing websites after tickets to his upcoming gigs went on sale for prices vastly in excess of face value.
Earlier this week, Stormzy announced details of a series of gigs between March and May of this year, including one in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre, and tickets weren’t long selling out when they went on sale on Thursday morning.
As has been the case with a number of high-profile acts of late, including U2 and Ed Sheeran, tickets were available on secondary sites such as Seatwave within minutes.
Tickets for the Olympia Theatre gig, for example, are available for between €100 and €120 at the time of writing, despite originally going on sale for €26.40.
To say Stormzy was unimpressed with developments would be an understatement and he took to Twitter to urge fans not to buy tickets for more than face value, with a special message for those responsible for jacking up the prices.
Fuck all these secondary ticket websites, please don't buy tickets for more than face value. Sorry there isn't more I can do, they're cunts
