Who cares about the actual award winners when we can see Bono and the lads play…

We always like watching U2 perform here in JOE Towers and it seems like the band are eager to make up for lost time in the recording studio following the release of their newest album Songs of Innocence.

We already told you about the plans they have for an upcoming tour but fans can get a small taste of what’s in store this Sunday when they perform at the MTV European Music Awards.

It will be the band’s fourth appearance on the EMA stage after Rotterdam in 1997, Stockholm in 2000 and a memorable performance in Berlin with Jay-Z in 2009.

While JOE couldn’t give a monkey’s about who wins in the category of “best breakout song amongst a list of massively over-hyped artists who most people will instantly forget,” we will be tuned in to see how Larry, Adam, Dave and Paul fair.

In the meantime, take a look at the last time they performed for a TV audience with this brilliant set on Later.. with Jools Holland.
