RTÉ went to Wexford on Friday to meet Ed Sheeran’s granny Nancy, who’s very proud of her grandson on the day that he releases his third album ÷ (Divide).
The record may be receiving some mixed reviews but will sell roughly 8 trillion copies regardless; Nancy, meanwhile, doesn’t care about any of that.
She rifles through the family albums and pulls out some absolute classics – let’s just say he hasn’t changed a bit – before she listens to Nancy Mulligan, a song he wrote about her.
In typical Irish granny fashion, she doesn’t seem too bothered by it, she’s just happy she’s not the one who has to stand up in front of all those people playing it.
As long as he wears a jacket, leave him off.
