Each county in Ireland has a venue that has become engrained in the musical heritage of the area and for Dubliner’s this place is definitely Whelan’s.
The popular location has become a temporary home for some of the best Irish music as well as housing some incredible acts from around the world.
This JOE has seen some fantastic performances in the venue this year alone like Girl Band, Real Estate, Jagwar Ma, Parquet Courts and Glass Animals and that’s just the tip of the iceberg in terms of who has performed in the venue.
Anyone who has been inside for a pint will tell you that the venue is steeped in musical history and the photos on the wall is a testament to the talent, both Irish and foreign, that has stopped by to entertain the Dublin crowds.
