In true Kanye style, his response is just a little bit off the rails.
You’ve probably heard about it by now, but in case you didn’t, Kanye West starred in episode 647 of the Kanye West controversies over the weekend after calling a halt to a gig in Sydney because two fans in wheelchairs didn’t stand up after Kanye had requested for everyone in audience to do so.
In fairness to Kanye, he didn’t know until he was made aware that the fans in question were wheelchair users, but his actions courted a fair degree of controversy all the same; the incident itself is pretty uncomfortable to watch.
Obviously well aware of the furore surrounding the incident, Kanye responded to it during a gig in Brisbane tonight and let’s just say the response wasn’t a brief one.
Letting fly at the media for blowing it out of proportion and mentioning things such as the murder of unarmed police officers, ‘them Ben Affleck statements and shit’ and ‘That’s why when I did ‘Runaway’ earlier, I said, ‘I sent ya a picture of my dick’, Kanye seemed to be trying to making the point that other important and very serious issues weren’t attracting as much coverage as they should while he was getting ‘demonised’ (his own words) for his actions at the weekend.
You can see it all for yourself below; expect the next episode of the Kanye West controversies to follow in the not too distant future.
