Video: This song about tractors could be the biggest farming hit since ‘Hay Wrap’ by the Saw Doctors

That’s a pretty high bar in fairness

That’s a pretty high bar in fairness.

They won’t appeal to everyone, but nobody should underestimate the power and potential reach of a good song about farming.

Songs like ‘I’ve got a brand new combine harvester’ and the aforementioned ‘Hay Wrap’ by The Saw Doctors remain popular with country folk all over Ireland and there could soon be a new anthem with a similar appeal to the agricultural masses.

‘Hit the Diff’ by Marty Mone from Castleblaney in Monaghan has only been on YouTube for a couple of weeks but it has already garnered in excess of 118,000 views.

For a song that is basically about tractors, other forms of farm machinery and the process of farming itself, we have it say it’s a grower.

Have a listen below and see what you think.
