Absolutely iconic
The viral Irish hit, The Spark, which was created by a group of youngsters from Cork and Clare has amazingly been longlisted for the 2025 Grammy Awards.
The song, which some would dub the sound of the 2024 summer, was released by Kabin Crew and Lisdoonvarna Crew back in May.
At the time of writing it’s amassed over two billion listens across the globe.
The Grammy’s are set to take place next February in Los Angeles and the group will find out if they’ve made the shortlist in a few weeks.
Kabin Studio founder Garry McCarthy responded to the news of the longlist, taking to Instagram to write: “What a mad few months this has been.
“A song that we created for the @rhymeisland initivate with the crew of legendary kids and tutors @thekabinstudio and in Lisdoonvarna is long listed for the Grammy’s.”
The iconic music video was filmed over one day in Cork and starred some 30 children aged between nine and 12.
Some of the children in the video live in accommodation for refugees.
Finally some good news for you all.
