Dublin can’t get enough praise this weather.
Yesterday, we were told that Dublin was the second friendliest city in the world and now it’s emerged that it’s up there with the most liveable cities in Europe.
Our capital just about sneaked into the Top 20 on the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) list of most liveable cities in the European Union, a list determined by five factors: Stability, Healthcare, Culture and Environment, Education and Infrastructure.
Perhaps not surprisingly, Germany figured prominently on the list with three cities – Berlin, Frankfurt and Hamburg – in the top ten, but the top spot in Europe went to Vienna, followed by Helsinki and Zurich.
On a global scale, Melbourne (below) earned the title of the world’s most liveable city for the fifth year in succession, one of four Australian cities in the top ten, along with Adelaide Sydney, and Perth.
Canada also seems a decent place to live if the list is anything to go by, with Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary all making the top ten, along with Auckland, Vienna and Helsinki.
Something to consider if you ever think of laying down some roots outside of Ireland for a while.
