Look how high Dublin has ranked in the list of must-visit cities in the world for 2016

They love us, they really love us.

Dublin has come third in Lonely Planet’s comprehensive list of the top ten cities in the world to visit in 2016.

According to The Irish Timesthe 1916 commemoration plays a huge factor in our fantastic position.

Prepare to gush with pride as the esteemed travel magazine explains its main reasoning, citing the Easter Rising centenary as a “a particularly good time” to pay a visit to our capital .

“(the) diaspora has turned inside out and Dublin is now a truly cosmopolitan capital, with an influx of people, energy and ideas infusing the ever-beguiling, multi-layered city with fresh flavours and kaleidoscopic colours”.
