It’s good to see.
This week one of the biggest councils in the UK, the Oxford City Council, introduced Mx, pronounced ‘Mix’ or ‘Mux’, as an option for people when they are filling out official paperwork.
The gender-neutral Mx. is used as a title for those who do not identify as being of a particular gender, or for people who don’t want to be identified by gender.
Rather than being forced to choose Mr, Miss or Ms the UK is slowly adopting Mx as an option for people on drivers licences, on paper work in banks and in some universities.
Mx is not an option on paperwork in Ireland, yet.
